Our ministry goal is to help students take their faith and make it their own. We seek to be a community where students can connect to each other and a team of awesome adult leaders. Our approach is create experiences for students to encounter God through worship, service, and relevant discussion-oriented teaching centered on the Bible. The youth ministry is for students in 6th – 12th grade.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – 9:45 AM
We meet every Sunday morning between the two services to catch up from the week and to dig into a passage of Scripture. Part of our time is spent together as one group and then we divide into smaller groups for more discussion.
THE GATHERING – Wednesdays 6:00 – 8:00pm
We begin each Wednesday with a meal and time for students to hang out in the Porch. On a typical Wednesday we play a game together, worship through a guided individual time of devotion, singing, & Bible study followed by discussion groups. On the 1st Wednesday of each month we have Celebrate Night each with its own theme reminding us of the joy we have in Jesus.
CATALYST – This is a time of Bible Study for students who want to go deeper. We eat together, play a game, and explore a Bible passage, topic, or spiritual practice. Check the calendar for Catalyst Sundays 4:30-6:30pm.
YOUTH PARENT COLLECTIVE –
New this year! This is a gathering for parents to be challenged and equipped as they navigate the youth years. Our focus will be building community as parents, discussion on a topic or book, and prayer. We will meet three times (September, January, and April).
2BC youth is not a club with events but a group of people committed to each other and committed to following Jesus. It is all about relationships and creating space for those relationships to develop.
There is no just add water formula to a better relationship with God. It takes time to develop behavior that orients the focus of our lives towards God. Asking questions, wrestling with Scripture, and sorting out how faith connects to life are all a part of this formation. Regularly, this means having weekly times of digging into Scripture, worshiping, and sharing life with a small group as well as stepping out of the regular rhythm to intentionally focus on God. All of these are done with others, but growing in our faith also involves developing regular private spiritual practices.
Faith is integrated into our whole person. We want students to take on “Disciple of Jesus” as their identity and let that shape all arenas of life. Be is the active component where we as a youth ministry join God on mission as we serve, invest in and share God’s love with our community.
