Special Needs

2BC offers Sunday School/Small Group classes for children and young adults with special needs. We believe all people have the right to

worship and fellowship with others in a safe and loving environment. We encourage those children that can to participate in the mainstream

classes whenever possible. If they are not able we currently have three small groups to meet the needs of children and young adults of varying abilities and needs. Please call the church office (361 994 0266) for more information on specific classes.

Care Givers of Special Needs – Room 210

This is a small group designed to meet the needs of those caring for an aging parent or a special needs individual.

Deaf – Room 225

Second Baptist Church provides a way for Deaf members and guests to be part of Bible study, worship, and ministry. A Bible study class in

American Sign Language is held each Sunday morning at 9:45 in room 225. The 11:00 am worship service is interpreted into American Sign Language.

The Deaf Bible study class looks for ways to minister to our community through participating in other ministries at the church and also

reaching out to Deaf people in our community who are looking for a church home.

For more information call the church office. Lucy James, RID CI, TX Master and Court Interpreter Certified is the Interpreter and the liaison between the deaf members and the church staff. We will have her call you if more information is needed.
